Built about 1900, the carriage house was one of two barns originally on the Post estate. Shortly after the Old South Haven Meeting House was moved from South Haven to its present site in 1961, the carriage house was remodeled to serve as a parish hall. (the other barn had been removed sometime prior to 1960.)
